Ballet Essentials | Pre-Pointe Program
Our Ballet Essentials program is our pre-pointe track, designed to prepare dancers for the transition into pointe work. This multi-level program (Levels A–C) serves as a stepping stone for dancers working toward pointe classes, which typically begin at age 12 and require approval from the Artistic Director after evaluation.
We care deeply about the health and development of our dancers and believe that proper preparation for pointe is essential. This program focuses on building the strength, alignment, and technique needed to safely support pointe work, helping to protect growing bodies while laying a strong foundation for long-term success in ballet.
Dancers train twice per week for 1.5 hours, progressing through structured demi-pointe work, strengthening exercises, and increasingly complex technique. We have partnered with Grit & Grace Dance and Streetwear to offer in-studio demi-pointe shoe fittings in mid-September, ensuring each dancer is properly fitted and supported as they begin and progress in their training.
At the end of each season, all students receive a pointe evaluation with personalized feedback and guidance on what to focus on over the summer before advancing to the next level.
All Ballet Essentials dancers will perform two pieces in our end-of-season recital, showcasing their growth, dedication, and artistry.
